WASHINGTON -- PA Consulting Group (PA) and Scientech, Inc. (Scientech) have announced the formation of a continuing partnership to provide risk evaluation and operational security services for North American water, wastewater, and electric utilities. The two firms, both with significant experience working with local, national, and international utilities, are combining their leading expertise to address concerns regarding the security of the infrastructure of these essential entities. Such concerns include, but are not limited to, the physical destruction of property, toxological sabotage, and cyber attacks.

"Given attention to the security of our infrastructure, we are stepping up our efforts to bring our depth of knowledge and breadth of capabilities in working with global companies, including utilities, to identify and alleviate potential threats to their security," noted Alan Ispass, a managing consultant within PA Consulting Group's Infrastructure and Development Services Group. "We are pleased to work with industry leaders from Scientech to bring these opportunities to fruition. Their reputation as a premier provider of expert services to energy markets makes this an ideal partnership."

"PA's reputation of identifying, developing, and implementing solutions for the world's leading corporations adds credibility to our partnered endeavor to ensure the security of our continent's utility companies," noted Dan Rees vice president, Risk and Reliability Services at Scientech. "We look forward to building upon our successes and providing vital and timely assessments, evaluations, and solutions to ensure the stability and safety of our infrastructure."

PA's Infrastructure and Development Services Group works extensively with the U.S. Agency for International Development and The World Bank, providing services to developing and changing infrastructures both domestically and around the world. Scientech brings relationships with a growing and robust portfolio of energy and utility clients, including Dominion Generation, Duke Power, Entergy Nuclear, FirstEnergy, NMC, LLC, and many others.

Scientech began collaborating with energy specialist firm Hagler Bailly early in 2000. PA Consulting Group successfully acquired Hagler Bailly later that year, bringing a diverse set of industry expertise and larger group of utility and energy specialists to the relationship.

PA Consulting Group is a leading global management, systems, and technology consulting firm. The company was established almost 60 years ago, and operates world-wide with some 4,000 employees from over 40 offices in more than 20 countries.

Formed in 1983, Scientech is a worldwide provider of services to the energy and telecommunication markets, with related support to government and industry. With over 30 offices located throughout the U.S. and the world, Scientech supplies services and products that enhance client operations by reducing risks, improving performance, minimizing costs and facilitating change.
