Bottled water company threatens lawsuit over ad

MIAMI — A bottled water company is threatening to sue Miami-Dade County if it continues to run radio ads where a talking faucet says the county's tap water is cheaper, purer and safer than bottled water.

A spokesman for Nestle Waters North America, which makes nearly $4 billion a year selling Zephyrhills and other brands, says the ads are an “attack on the integrity of the company” and “blatantly wrong.''

The 30-second ads ended a five-week run last month. There are no plans to revive it, so the county considers the legal issues moot.
