ISLAMABAD — Pakistan Muslim League President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has cautioned that the water crisis could badly harm the ties between Pakistan and India.

"Unless the present water crisis is resolved under the Indus Water Treaty, it could lead to extremely dangerous situation, which would be more serious than terrorism and may result into war between the two countries," he said in a press statement issued here.

Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said the Indus Water Treaty of 1962 needed ratification by the governments of India and Pakistan and the present water crisis must be resolved on priority basis.
