SINGAPORE -- International water quality issues, many of relevance to Singapore and the entire Pacific Rim region, will be discussed by the International Association of Water Quality during its 18th biennial conference at Singapore on June 23-28. The conference, last conducted here 10 years ago, will take place in conjunction with Aquatech Asia 96, the region's premier exhibition of water technology.

The seven-day Singapore conference will feature over 300 presentations that have been selected from a field of some 700 submissions, noted Jenny Ong, project manager for the conference. Among water quality topics to be discussed are measuring the success of water pollution control, wastewater treatment, groundwater contamination, river basin management, and health-related microbiology.

The International Association of Water Quality, said Ong, is a world-renowned organization established to promote internationally the professional advancement of water pollution control. The association claims membership from over a hundred countries. Information on the Singapore conference and Aquatech Asia exhibition is available from Ong at (65) 272-2250.
