BOISE, Idaho -- While it might pose more relevant information to whitewater rafters than the average water user, the Idaho Department of Water Resources is providing daily river flow level measurements via electronic mail.

The department's streamflow monitors have developed a special subscription program that provides the daily streamflow report via electronic mail, said hydrologist Bill Ondrechen. The report, which lists river flows in cubic feet per second, is issued daily during the normal work week and provides subscribers with detailed reports on flows in 30 different Idaho rivers. Rivers covered in the report include the Snake, Teton, Payette, Owyhee, St. Joe, and Priest.

The message "subscribe flows" followed by an e-mail address should be sent to maiser@admlist.state.id.us.
